"Where do doggies
go when they die?
Do they just disappear?
Do we just say goodbye?

We like to believe
they don’t go away,
when we thought all along
that forever they’d stay.

Because there's no answer
we just want to cry.
It makes us so sad
when our own doggies die.

But sadness, like joy
is a feeling that's all.
Just one of many,
some big and some small.

Loss is a big one
and sadness is too.
When we lose loved ones
it's okay to feel blue.

There's no way to know
when doggies die,
where they will go
or even why

Imagining
where we think they might go
will help us to live
with what we don't know.

Maybe we'll imagine them
as angels above,
or smiling through flowers
sending us love.

If they are angels
and fly through the sky,
they'll always watch over us
as time passes by.

If they are flowers
that pop from the ground,
they'll tell us in color
they're always around.

We decide in our hearts
whatever is real,
whatever we  want,
whatever we feel.

So, whether we want them
to wave from the sky,
or smile through the flowers
we won't say good-bye.

Our doggies will live
in the love that we feel,
and remembering their joy
will help our hearts heal
